LIPS

Low maintenance natural tinting that won't go away.
Colors are custom mixed to achieve the perfect tone for you. I apply sheer layers of buildable color to enhance your natural lips. No over-lining or blotchy and uneven lip borders. Permanent Cosmetics NW lip blushing treatments mimic a luscious tinted oil or stain. Our cutting edge neutralization techniques shift darker pigmentation to gorgeous nudes, corals, or soft rose tones.
Lip Blush is a natural, sheer lip stain effect - no harsh outlines, just a subtle blush of color to define, shape, and make lips look naturally plump & flushed! A custom color is mixed for each and every client based on their skin color, undertones, and existing lip shade. Lip Blush is offered for all lip tones and works best on pale to medium-pale toned lips. Your naturally occurring lip pigmentation determines what effect will work on your skin. Melanin rich or darker lips will require a dark lip neutralization for best results.
This newer service uses modern color analysis and techniques to shift darker lips to a lighter nude or rosier shade. Neutralization is used to lighten and even out the tone of lips in the first session. The treatment lifts darkness and balances out your lip tone to create an even base to later deposit color on. Neutralization begins with 2 sessions, but could take up to 3 or 4 to achieve desired results. Everyone is unique and patience is key! Results can be confidence boosting and life changing!
Pain is minimal - 3 anesthetics are used to keep you comfortable!
Healing time is very quick and very easy, just a day or two of occasional ointment application and avoiding spicy foods/swimming/sauna.
The area will be slightly swollen for a day or two (but nothing you have to hide away from, they’ll just be plump)
Color is very vibrant and looks like lipstick the first 2 days, then begins settling in, softening and turning very natural
This is a two step process: we will book your second session when you are in the studio.
Cooler/ darker lips might require extra sessions to achieve desired results.
Lip fillers:
If you plan on getting lip filler do it before you get your lips tattooed.
Cold sores:
If you’ve ever had a sore on the outside area of your mouth or on your lips you must take an antiviral drug one week prior and one week after. Lip tattooing can sometimes trigger a cold sore outbreak.
Moisturize:
Make sure your lips are well moisturized in the days leading to the appt. Dry, cracked lips won’t heal as well.
Day 1
Some swelling will occur - its very temporary! It commonly lasts from 3-24 hours.
Your skin will start slowly releasing lymph fluid right after your procedure. This is a common healing process for our bodies! Clean lips and moisturize with the ointment provided every hour with a Q-tip or clean cloth for the first six hours after your appointment.
Day 2
The lips may still be slightly swollen today and it will look like you’re wearing matte lipstick. It’s normal for them to feel chapped or wind burnt. Moisturize with A&D ointment as needed.
Day 3-7
Keep moisturizing as needed. It’s ok for lips to dry out slightly between applications. Some light flaking and peeling may occur-this is normal. Do not pick or rub any dry skin. It must shed naturally. If you pick or peel the skin, it will take the tattoo out with it and you will have uneven results. After a couple of weeks, your lips will appear very light in color. Don’t worry! The color will continue to develop over the next few months.
Refrain from soaking your lips in water for a week and applying makeup to them.
Refrain from using saunas and swimming pools, sweating excessively and sunbathing for 5 days.
Do not peel any dry skin/ scabs.
Do not over-moisturize. Many clients keep ointment/balm on their healing lips 24/7. They need air exposure to heal and ointment creates a barrier for that. The ointment is for the immediately after the procedure and then only as needed.
