Your Consultation
Every treatment starts with a thorough consultation. This is our opportunity to chat, to ask questions, and talk through your desired results. We’ll discuss everything from design to color, and I will recommend the most suitable technique and style for you.
Pre-Draw (Lips & Brows)
Once you’re comfortable to go ahead and we’ve agreed on the direction and style of the treatment, we’ll begin the pre-draw. This is when I draw and design your brows or lips into a shape that suits your unique facial features and enhances your natural beauty. You’ll be able to check the shape, make adjustments, and ensure you’re 100% happy before we begin the treatment. Eyeliner I will illustrate for you.
The Treatment
Now it’s time for the actual treatment! I’ll begin implanting pigment into the skin using a specialized Permanent Makeup device or manual tool, depending on the treatment. The sensation varies from person to person – some describe it as a light scratching, while others feel almost nothing at all. Rest assured that all measures available to keep you as comfortable as possible. Throughout the treatment I will work with precision and care to build up the pigment gradually, checking in with you throughout to ensure you’re happy with the progress and are as comfortable as possible.
Aftercare Guidance
Once the treatment is complete, I’ll walk you through everything you need to know about aftercare. This is a key step in ensuring the best possible results and ensuring a smooth healing process. You’ll be given a detailed aftercare sheet and I may also recommend a specific aftercare balm. You may experience some minor redness, tenderness or swelling immediately after the treatment – this is totally normal and usually subsides within a couple of hours. The color will also appear more intense at first but will soften beautifully as the skin heals.
Your Touch-Up Appointment
All Permanent Makeup treatments at Permanent Cosmetics NW include a retouch appointment 4–12 weeks after your first session. This allows us to perfect the shape and color, and make any adjustments necessary once the initial healing is complete. Touch-ups are not always needed but they do give me an opportunity to get a pretty healed picture!
